Digital Nomad Retreat

DAY 1: ISLAMABAD

Arrive Islamabad and transfer to hotel (check-in time 12 noon). 

Once everyone has had a chance to freshen up, we will start sightseeing the city, visiting Faisal Mosque & the Pakistan monument. In the evening we will stop over at Saidpur Village for a dinner.

DAY 2 : DEPART FOR NARAN

(9 hours drive)

On route we will make plenty of stops to take pictures & enjoy some trout freshly made by the roadside.

Relax in the evening, local walks.

DAY 3 NARAN - HUNZA

We will spend the morning visiting Jeel Saif ul Maluk, in my opinion the 8th wonder of the world. A Beautiful lake which lies in the middle of the mountains, no one has been able to determine how deep the lake is, despite numerous attempts made by divers. 

Following lunch, we will make our way to Hunza, to the beautiful resort of Cloud Nine and a Half, which is a 9-11 hours drive.

DAY 4 HUNZA

Following an early breakfast, we leave the site at 8am to explore the local town. 

First stop will be historic Baltit Fort, which is based in Karimabad. Following the guided tour of the fort, which will take a couple of hours, we will walk down to Karimabad Bazaar for a bit of a wonder.

From zero point Karimabad, will drive off to Altit village to visit Altit Fort.

We will have Lunch at Altit 

After lunch we will take you to explore Altit village & visit houses which are 700 years old, which people are still living in it. Before we return we will do a bit of souvenir shopping & then visit the women-led wood carpentry workshop, Ciqam.

Return to the resort & relax, with dinner at the resort.

DAY 5 HUNZA

Following an early breakfast, we leave the site at 8am to explore the local town. 

Visit Attabad lake. There are many boating options available at Attabad lake. Ranging from traditional wooden passenger boat to speed boats, Jet skis, Private boats etc.

After some time there we will visit Gulmit village & then drive to the top of the road till Helipad. 

We will take you to enjoy the bird eye view of Attabad lake and surrounding mountains. An ancient ruins of a fortress at Aundrah Poyega is on the adjacent mountain. There are 1000 step to the top, anyone who feels up for the challenge may want to attempt climbing up. 

We will then visit the women-led carpet weaving centre as well in Gulmit.

Scenic walk to the nearby village of Gulkin.

Visit Passu – View Passu glacier from KKH. 

Overnight at Cloud Nine and a Half

Day 6 HUNZA

Drive through various settlements of Hyderabad to the top ridge of the nearby mountain to reach Cloud Nine and A Half Viewpoint. From this vantage point, you can have an bird’s eye view of the whole valley. From Duiker and Karimabad at left, Shimshal range and Sputnik/Golden peak and Nagar peak in front to Rakaposhi to the right. All major towns of Central Hunza and 7 (seven thousand ft plus height) peaks are visible from here. 

From the viewpoint, descending down towards the village, you can wander around and explore the village at your own pace. Guide will be available where required. Will meet at the rendezvous point near the towns Polo Ground.

You will have a local cuisine workshop with live cooking at C9AH grounds. You can participate in the cooking activity if you wish to. You will have the local food with tea at sun-set on the cliff edge platform.

DAY 7 HUNZA

Today we will take you to the nearby KADO workshop. This is an initiative of Karakorum Area Development Organisation. You can see how an NGO is working in Hunza to elevate poverty, social inclusion and providing facilities to the youth to better themselves. They have a carpet weaving area for differently abled people, a digital hub for young tech startups and entrepreneurs and regularly conduct seminars on women empowerment and environmental sustainable projects.

We will return to the resort for lunch, where you can relax with a book or just sit back and enjoy the views whilst having a natter. 

In the evening we will have a music learning session. With local musicians and local musical instruments available. You can chill on the wooden decks and try to learn a chord or two. The musician will explain the history of the instruments and give basic lessons as how to use them.

DAY 8 HUNZA

Leave C9AH and drive towards Hoppar, Nagar Valley. Once we there, we will visit the Hoppar glacier viewpoint. Rush peak is also visible from there. Lunch at Hoppar valley.

We will return to C9AH. 

Relaxing evening at the resort.

We will have dinner by the bonfire on the resort grounds. After dinner, we will have Movie night on the necks using projector.

DAY 10 HUNZA -CHILLAS

Much of the day will be spent on teh road.

Day 11 CHILLAS - ISLAMABAD

Most of the day will be spent on the road on our descent with some stops to take pictures and have lunch.

In the evening, we will have dinner at Monal to end the trip.
